കൊല്ലം: തേവലക്കര ബോയ്സ് ഹൈസ്കൂളിൽ വൈദ്യുതാഘാതമേറ്റു മരിച്ച മിഥുന്റെ കുടുംബത്തിന് സർക്കാർ ഉറപ്പുനൽകിയ വീടിന് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മന്ത്രി വി ശിവൻകുട്ടി തറക്കല്ലിട്ടു. ഞായർ രാവിലെ പടിഞ്ഞാറെകല്ലട വിളന്തറയിലാണ് വീടിന്റെ നിർമാണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്ക് തുടക്കം കുറിച്ചത്. മിഥുന്റെ മാതാപിതാക്കളും സഹോദരനും ചടങ്ങിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു.സംസ്ഥാന പൊതുവിദ്യാഭ്യാസ വകുപ്പിന്റെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലുള്ള സ്ക‍ൗട്ട്സ് ആൻഡ്‌ ഗൈഡ്‌സ് അസോസിയേഷന്റെ മേൽനോട്ടത്തിലാണ് ഭവന നിർമാണം. മൂന്നുമുറിയും ഹാളും അടുക്കളയും സിറ്റ‍ൗട്ടും രണ്ട് അറ്റാച്ച്‌ഡ്‌ ബാത്ത്റൂമും ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള സ‍ൗകര്യങ്ങളുണ്ടാകും. 10 ലക്ഷം രൂപയാണ്‌ ചെലവ് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നത്‌. അഞ്ചു മാസത്തിനുള്ളിൽ നിർമാണം പൂർത്തിയാക്കും.വീട് നിർമാണം പൂർത്തിയാകുന്നതുവരെ കുടുംബത്തിന് താമസിക്കാൻ സമീപത്തായി മറ്റൊരു വീട് സർക്കാർ ചെലവിൽ വാടകയ്ക്ക് എടുത്തുനൽകി. നിലവിലെ പഴകിയ വീട് സ്ക‍ൗട്ട്സ് ആൻഡ്‌ ഗൈഡ്‌സ് അസോസിയേഷന്റെ മേൽനോട്ടത്തിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞദിവസം പൊളിച്ചുമാറ്റി സ്ഥലം ഒരുക്കി.ജൂലൈ 17നാണ് വിളന്തറ മനുഭവനിൽ എട്ടാംക്ലാസ് വിദ്യാർഥിയായ മിഥുൻ സ്കൂളിൽ മരിച്ചത്. മനുവിന്റെയും സുജാതയുടെയും മൂത്ത മകനായിരുന്നു. കുടുംബത്തെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുമെന്നും എല്ലാ സഹായങ്ങളും ഉറപ്പാക്കുമെന്നും പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മന്ത്രി വി ശിവൻകുട്ടി മിഥുന്റെ കുടുംബത്തിന് വീട് നിർമിച്ചുനൽകുമെന്നും ഉറപ്പുനൽകിയിരുന്നു.മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ദുരിതാശ്വാസ ഫണ്ടിൽനിന്ന്‌ 10 ലക്ഷം രൂപ, അധ്യാപക സംഘടന കെഎസ്ടിഎ 11.10ലക്ഷം, സ്കൂൾ മാനേജ്മെന്റ് 10ലക്ഷം, കെഎസ്ഇബി 10ലക്ഷം, പൊതുവിദ്യാഭ്യാസ വകുപ്പിന്റെ മൂന്നുലക്ഷം രൂപയും മിഥുന്റെ കുടുംബത്തിന് ധനസഹായമായി നൽകിയിരുന്നു.
Education Minister V. Sivankutty laid the foundation stone for the house that the government had promised to build for the family of Midhun, who died of electrocution at Thevalakara Boys’ High School in Kollam. The construction work for the house began on Sunday morning at Vilanthara, Padinjare Kallada. Midhun’s parents and brother attended the ceremony.The house construction is being supervised by the Scouts and Guides Association, which is under the control of the State Public Education Department. The house will have three rooms, a hall, a kitchen, a sit-out, and two attached bathrooms. The expected cost is ₹10 lakh, and the construction will be completed within five months.
The government has rented another house nearby for the family to stay in until the construction is completed. The old house was demolished and the site was prepared under the supervision of the Scouts and Guides Association.
Midhun, an eighth-grade student from Vilanthara Manubhavan, died at school on July 17. He was the eldest son of Manu and Sujatha. Education Minister V. Sivankutty, who had announced that the government would protect the family and ensure all assistance, had also promised to build a house for Midhun’s family.The family had also received financial assistance of ₹10 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund, ₹11.10 lakh from the teachers’ organization KSTA, ₹10 lakh from the school management, ₹10 lakh from KSEB, and ₹3 lakh from the Public Education Department.
