About the college:
Mar Athanasius College of Engineering pioneered engineering education in central Kerala in 1961. Managed by Mar Athanasius College Association, Aided by the Government of Kerala, the college was the first in Asia under Christian Management. It was also the first engineering college affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University and is now affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. MACE, as it is popularly known, has grown by leaps and bounds since. It now has six full-fledged departments apart from the two auxiliary departments of Mathematics and Science and Humanities. N S S College of Engineering, Palakkad is one of the most reputed, premier engineering educational institution in Kerala affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. It was established in 1960 by Nair Service Society under the leadership of late Bharatha Kesari Mannathu Padmanabhan, during the second five year plan with the assistance of the Central and State Government under the grant-in-aid scheme. The college has an enviable heritage and legacy of grooming brilliant engineering professionals who later made their mark in industrial and other sectors of the country and abroad. At present, the institution offers B.Tech degree courses in six branches and M.Tech degree courses in Communication Engineering, Power Electronics, Computer Science & Engineering, Structural Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and Biomedical Engineering. About the College
Reflecting a commendable legacy of more than 6 decades, TKM College of Engineering, situated in the cashew hub of Kerala, City of Kollam; is the first Government- aided engineering college in Kerala. It is ideally located, in Karikode, on the Kollam- Chenkotta road, about 5 kilometers from the heart of the city. The campus, a distinctive landmark that cuts above the rest is built in the aesthetic Indo Saracenic architectural style with mughal influence.
The college is the first and foremost institution for technical education, run by the TKM College Trust, headed by Janab Shahal Hassan Musaliar. The foundation stone of the college was laid in the year 1956 by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of Independent India. The college was formally inaugurated by Prof. Humayun Kabir, the then Minister for Scientific and Cultural Affairs, Govt. of India, on 3rd July, 1958.
At its start, the college began its stride with the three basic branches of engineering – Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Today it is a renowned technical institution in India, offering undergraduate programs in eight branches of engineering and architecture, ten postgraduate programs of different specializations in engineering and an MCA program.
